VLC gets iOS 7 Update

VideoLAN today updated VLC for iOS with a slew of improvements, including a new design for iOS 7 as well as Google Drive and Dropbox features. You can download the new version now from Apple’s App Store.

The main highlights from the full changelog are as follows:

  • New UI for iOS 7.
  • New multi-touch gestures.
  • Google Drive integration and streaming from Dropbox.
  • Improved UPnP support including the ability to download files.
  • A start-up tutorial.
  • Re-written WiFi Upload.
  • Support for more streaming formats and protocols.
  • Improved decoders, adding support for HEVC / H.265 and VP9.
  • Improved library handling, especially for TV shows.
  • Improved privacy when using Passcode Lock.

VLC for iOS comes in at 24.6MB and can be downloaded for free from the App Store.
